Summer Vacation
A couple of days after Arjuna's birthday we went on vacation. The plan was to make it up to Montana to see family and go backpacking, so along the way we made a couple of stops. Our first stop was at Bear World in Idaho. We saw a ton of Black Bears that just walk freely through the park while you drive through it. This picture is of some bears sitting and waiting for food from the vehicle in front of us. At the end of the park they also had a petting zoo for the kids to enjoy (no bears though). Arjuna got attacked by one of the baby deer they had there, we all got a good chuckle at that - especially Arjuna.
A few miles down the road we got to Yellowstone National Park. We stopped to see Old Faithful and a couple of Painted Pots (geysers). Arjuna was so fascinated by the spraying water and all the colors of the pots - dad had to keep a strong hold of Arjuna's hand.
I think every ones favorite stop was Chico Hot Springs. I was so excited to come here, this was somewhere my grandparents took me almost every year. The kids loved the hot springs pool, and as you may guess we did a lot of swimming. Arjuna got to try out his skills, since he was in swimming lessons earlier this year. Denali enjoyed her floating doughnut just as long as Jerome or I didn't leave her side. From here it took us about three more hours until we reached my families house where the kids would hangout, have fun, and be spoiled rotten while Jerome and I got ready for our backpacking trip that we've waited so long for!!!
